Dear Friend
About me I am a native Scot ,of the Clan Fraser of Lovat, born in Glasgow in 1959 , moved to Aberdeenshire at nine, proud of my heritage, now living in England with my wife & two adult children . I visit "home" as often as I can. My interest in photography started at school at the time I was taking my 'O' levels in 1975. I had some study time and I was walking along the banks of the River Dee in Aberdeen. It was the first time that I had really appreciated the beauty of the surrounding countryside, so much so that I was moved to buying my first camera - a Zorki 4k, a quirky Russian rangefinder. It did what it was intended to do but I soon realised I needed a Single Lens Reflex. I subsequently got one and haven't looked back since. After a few years experimenting with different brands of camera and self teaching to learn the basics of photography, I 'graduated' to Canon gear and now shoot exclusively with Canon. Not because the other manufacturers are inferior , far from it , its just that you don't change horses mid-stream. I have both digital capability and film also, so I get the best of both worlds. I now belong to a Camera Club in Bristol, www.reflexcc.org.uk, and have done for the past 3 years. I sit on the Committee. In the summer of 2004 I achieved my Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society (LRPS) and hope to achieve my ARPS in 2005. The Royal Photographic Society, www.rps.org , is a nationally recognised body dedicated to the advancement of photography. I would like to take this opportunity to share with you my love of photography by showing some moments of time captured in image Please browse my website at your leisure |
